Overview This project describes a modular smart-home control system in which an ESP32 gateway connects remote relay nodes over ESP-NOW and exposes them to Home Assistant through MQTT. The gateway is not just a radio coordinator. It is the boundary device that joins three different concerns: local low-overhead wireless control, wired IP networking through the WIZnet W5500, and automation-system integration through MQTT discovery and state topics.
