This paper presents research on high-performance flexible sensors developed by a research team from Jilin University's Key Laboratory of Bionic Engineering in China, inspired by scorpion slit receptors. This paper is from June 2025. Despite visual system degradation over 430 million years of evolution, scorpions developed an ultra-sensitive mechanosensory system to hunt in darkness. The research team analyzed three core mechanisms of the slit receptors in scorpion legs—"stress concentration-high-pass filtering-omnidirectional localization"—and developed sensors mimicking these principles…
