Project description

It is built to work within my DIY SCADA: https://hackaday.io/project/14862-diy-scada-smart-homeIts purpose is to connect any sensor or actor wireless to my smart home system. This is achieved with an Arduino and an ESP8266 (ESP-01) as a WiFi module. The Arduino (Level 1) transmits data via Modbus TCP/IP Protocol to the Level 2 (A Raspberry PI with CodeSys software PLC). Small functions are processed directly on the Arduino. ( for example the dosing on my cat-feeder https://hackaday.io/project/167848-diy-scada-cat-feeder)

DETAILS

The example on my pictures shows a unit that has a motion sensor, a light sensor, and a 433Mhz transmitter ( to communicate to Smartwares https://www.smartwares.eu/en-gb/smartwares) packet in a 3D printed case. That case is designed to fit the wired variant of the remote I/O (with the Arduino ethernet shield) as well.
