Project description

ABOUT THIS PROJECT
OPEN_SOURCE_WATER_FLOW_CONTROL_SCADA
The project is about using Arduino UNO board to monitor and control water flow system in high rising buildings. the project idea came up from problems experienced by water system maintenance team of one of the biggest university in Nigeria. The students do complain of water supply to their hostels (high rising building) but the maintenance team maintained that they always pump water by showing physical evidence of working pump. Then i saw the need of a cost effective SCADA system that will enable the maintenance team monitors the overview of the water system within the campus. The only cost effective means is open source. I then commence research and came up with an effective solution:?OPEN SOURCE WATER MANAGEMENT SCADA SYSTEM The System comprises Arduino uno Board, Arduino uno Ethernet shield, relay module, ultrasonic sensor, two plastic containers (representing overhead tank and reservoir), mini water pump, pipes, Ethernet switch/router, network cable, Apache web server and a computer The Arduino monitors the water level in the overhead tank via the ultrasonic sensor, calculates the water level ,relates calculated level with the preset maximum and minimum level, decides when to turn of and on the water pump and send the overall parameters to the web server via the Ethernet shield for visual inspection on web browsers by PCs connected to the web server.
