Project description

Before we get into the details of this project, let's talk about Modbus TCP. Modbus TCP is one of the fieldbus protocols. It belongs to the application layer of the seven layers of the OSI. This means that it can be implemented on any WIZnet chip that has a TCP/IP core, and while there are no regular updates, the WIZ550S2E does provide a Modbus example. The author of this UCC implemented a Modbus TCP slave using an Arduino Mega. The author has selected and implemented the W5100, ENC36J60, and ESP8266 for use as defined in the code.
