W5500 has 8 sockets.
Before doing anything else try reading the PHYCFGR register to prove you read 0x04.

Also i tried by doing
uint8_t bufSizeTx={2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2};
uint8_t bufSizeRx={2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2};
What does it mean by reading PHYCFGR register? Could you expand it?
