PCI-E connector is not designed to be put to PC motherboard, but to the custom board with some extension modules (like standard expansion boards). There are all power supply signals and all signals from/to MCU there. Power supply supports wide range - from 4.5V to 28V DC. I wanted to use any industrial power supply, depending on the project (sometimes 5V, sometimes 24V, depending what I need to control) Atmega64A - enough for most of the projects and still cheap.
