Project description

Description This module can handle Ethernet for your board (f.x. an Arduino), and give it 5V from passive Power over Ethernet (PoE). The module is not IEEE 802.3af/at compliant and using a usual PoE source (f.x. a PoE switch) will give +48V to the module and surely blow it. Requirements: Max 100 feet Ethernet cable Max 400 mA (the module itself will use just a few mA) The source of power at the other end of the Ethernet cable: must follow usual passive PoE (on cables 4&5 and 7&8). 12V or 9V if using a short Ethernet cable (12V with a short cable will make the 5V voltage converter next to the…
