Project description

ESTABLISHING SOCKET COMMUNICATION OVER TCP/IP.

Conceptual description

*PROTOCOL

Protocols are originally diplomatic languages, meaning rituals or commitments between states, and in communication, communication protocols, commitments that allow one system to accept communication with another system smoothly.

*IP

A unique identifying address assigned to computers around the world

*PORT

A port is a unique number that must be assigned by a process internally on the host in order to communicate over the network. Because this value is used to identify a process that is communicating with a network within one host, different processes within the same host cannot have the same port number. That is, a number that identifies a program within the same computer.
