Hello Makers! 👋 I’m working on a simple yet powerful project that combines the SW-Series vibration sensor (like SW-420) with a WIZnet Ethernet module to build a real-time vibration monitoring system. Components Used SW-Series Vibration Sensor (SW-420): Detects vibrations using a spring-based mechanism Adjustable sensitivity via onboard potentiometer Digital HIGH/LOW output for easy interfacing Operates on 3.3V or 5V logic WIZnet Ethernet Module (e.g., WIZ550web): Built-in web server for I/O monitoring and control Supports digital/analog data via HTTP GET/POST calls Custom web pages can be stored in onboard memory or microSD Project Concept Connect the sensor: Hook up VCC, GND, and digital output (DO) from the SW-420 to a digital input pin on the WIZnet module. Configure I/O monitoring: Use the module’s web interface to read sensor state (HIGH/LOW) over Ethernet. Trigger actions: When vibration is detected, the module can update a web dashboard, log an event, or trigger an alarm. Remote access: The sensor status is accessible through a simple web page hosted directly on the WIZnet module. Example Use Case Place the vibration sensor on a machine to monitor unusual activity. Connect the WIZnet module to your network. Open the hosted web page to check vibration status in real time. Optional: Extend with notifications, data logging, or multi-sensor support. Why This Project is Interesting Low-cost & simple: SW-420 is easy to use and inexpensive. Web-enabled monitoring: Access data remotely via Ethernet. Customizable interface: Build your own dashboard with HTML/JS. Scalable: Add multiple sensors for wider monitoring coverage. Questions for the Community What’s the best way to handle debounce or false triggers with vibration sensors? Has anyone tried long-term vibration data logging with WIZnet modules? How would you extend this project to support multiple sensors at once? Looking forward to your thoughts and ideas!
