What Is Inside the WittelB WIN-MD-W5500, an Own-Brand W5500 Module from India?

A WIZnet W5500, a 25.000 MHz crystal and a HanRun HR911105A jack. Augmatic Technologies of Vadodara sells it at INR 425, below its own ENC28J60 board.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

📌 An Indian Electronics Manufacturer Sells a W5500 Board Under Its Own Part Number

The WIN-MD-W5500-V1.0 is a 28.3 mm by 55.4 mm SPI Ethernet module built around a WIZnet W5500, sold by Augmatic Technologies Private Limited of Vadodara in Gujarat, India, under the brand WittelB. Augmatic describes itself on its About page as "a technology-driven electronics design and manufacturing company", and sells PCB design, PCB assembly and embedded development as services.

Augmatic Technologies was established in 2017 and registered for GST in Gujarat in 2018. Its IndiaMART supplier record, read on 27 August 2026, gives 11 to 25 employees and a turnover band of 1.5 to 5 crore rupees, and the About page names Surajit Datta as founder and director alongside ten staff.

The module answers one narrow question for a customer who already has a microcontroller: how to add wired Ethernet without writing a stack. The WittelB datasheet states the mechanism verbatim: "The Ethernet module communicates with the host controller via a high-speed SPI interface while internally handling the full TCP/IP stack using the W5500 chipset." WittelB published the page on 16 April 2026 and last modified it on 22 June 2026, per the WordPress record for product id 4352.

Vendor, Availability, and Price

Augmatic Technologies sells from Plot no 6, Shah Industrial Estate II, Kotambi, Vadodara 391510 in Gujarat, India, and publishes one sales address, sales@wittelb.com, plus the phone number +91 9403892805. The wittelb.com product page carries no price and no cart, since every product ends in an "Add to Quote" button and the datasheet sits behind a lead form headed "Fill the form and download the data sheet".

The public price therefore comes from the company's IndiaMART storefront, which has been a member since July 2011 and carries a 3.5 rating from 11 reviews. On 27 August 2026 the listing titled "SPI to ETHERNET Module WIN-MD-W5500-V1.0 (MODULES)" showed INR 425 per piece excluding all taxes, marked In Stock and shipping from Waghodia, under listing ID 2859116762912.

The same storefront hosts the only public copy of the datasheet, a three-page PDF uploaded in April 2026 whose page 1 holds a close photograph of an assembled board. One caution belongs to the listing rather than the product: its attribute table records Interface as "UART" and Device Type as "TTL to Ethernet" while the datasheet, the product page and the board silkscreen all say SPI.

What the Board Photograph Actually Shows

The photograph embedded in the WittelB datasheet is 664 by 1600 pixels and sharp enough to read component markings, which turns the vendor claim into direct evidence. The silkscreen reads WIN-MD-W5500-v1.0, and the 48-pin package at U1 carries the WIZnet logo above the line W5500 and a lot code.

Three more parts read clearly. X1 is a metal-can crystal marked 25.000 with the code 3225K, the 25 MHz reference the W5500 expects; U2 is an SOT-223 regulator marked HT1117GC 3.3, the rail that lets the board accept either 5 V or 3.3 V input; and J1 is a HanRun HR911105A RJ45 jack with integrated magnetics carrying a cURus mark and the date code 2547, week 47 of 2025.

The header silkscreen is legible too. One row reads GND, SCS, SCLK, MISO and MOSI, and the other reads +5V, 3.3V, RSTn and INTn, with INTn on the square pad that marks pin 1. Page 3 labels the board with callouts for Ethernet Port, 5V and 3.3V Input Supply, Control Pins, SPI Interface, Common GND and Power LED.

⚙️ Role of the W5500 on This Board

The W5500 is effectively the entire product, because nothing else on the WIN-MD-W5500-V1.0 processes data. There is no microcontroller, no flash and no configuration interface, only the W5500 with its crystal, regulator, RJ45 magnetics and passives, so the host talks SPI on one side and standard Ethernet leaves on the other.

WittelB lists "Supports up to 8 simultaneous socket connections" and "Low firmware overhead due to hardware networking offload" among the module's features, which is the W5500 socket engine holding TCP and UDP state in silicon instead of host memory. For a controller running a machine, the network layer cannot then starve the control loop of RAM or interrupt time.

The installation notes show the cost of putting the network controller on a header rather than on the host PCB. WittelB warns that "SPI lines should be kept short and properly routed to minimize signal noise", and asks buyers to "Use standard CAT5e or higher Ethernet cable".

The Same Vendor Also Sells an ENC28J60 Board, and It Costs More

WittelB does not sell the W5500 board as its only Ethernet option, because it published the alternative on the same day. The WIN-MD-ENC28J60 Ethernet Module went live on 16 April 2026 alongside the W5500 board, and its page describes a controller "which integrates MAC and PHY, enabling reliable 10 Mbps Ethernet communication" while "allowing users to implement their own TCP/IP stack (such as LwIP or uIP)".

One vendor thus states both halves of the choice: a hardwired stack at 10/100 Mbps, or a MAC and PHY at 10 Mbps with the stack left to customer firmware. The two IndiaMART prices read on 27 August 2026 sharpen the comparison, because the W5500 board at INR 425 is ten rupees cheaper than the ENC28J60 board at INR 435.

The third Ethernet entry on that shelf, the WIN UART TTL to Ethernet Converter, sells at INR 925 and is configured through a web page at the default address 192.168.1.254 rather than over SPI. WittelB does not name the controller inside it.

Where the Two W5500 Boards Sit in a 155-Product Catalog

WittelB is not a module shop, and its catalog shows it. The WordPress category counts read on 27 August 2026 give 155 products under WittelB Products: 76 sensors, 49 I/O modules, 16 IoT gateways, 7 Raspberry Pi HATs and 7 modules, plus 143 products under application-oriented Use Cases categories.

The W5500 boards live on that seven-item Modules shelf and nowhere else. A site-wide product search for W5500 on 27 August 2026 returns exactly two results, the V1.0 and V2.0 modules, and both carry only the Modules and WittelB Products categories. Augmatic does sell in application categories that would suit an Ethernet part, including 10 items under datacentre infrastructure management and 73 under building management, but no published document connects a W5500 to any of them.

The WIN-CN-1M-1TCP shows what that gap looks like. This DIN-rail "Converter Module with 1 Port Modbus RTU Master to Modbus TCP Ethernet" is sold as CE certified with a one-year warranty, and its page names no network controller.

What Changed in the V2.0 Revision

WittelB published WIN-MDS-W5500-V2.0 on 14 May 2026, four weeks after the V1.0 board, and its page keeps the same chip and claim: "Powered by the W5500 chipset, it features a hardwired TCP/IP stack that offloads network processing from the host MCU."

The V2.0 photograph shows a different arrangement, with the PCB stacked over the RJ45 jack instead of beside it, yet the V2.0 specification table repeats the V1.0 dimensions of 28.3 mm by 55.4 mm. The V2.0 image is too soft to read a part marking, so its WIZnet evidence rests on the vendor text. Both records were last modified on 22 June 2026.

Where It Fits, and What Is Not Published

The WIN-MD-W5500-V1.0 suits a buyer in India who wants a locally invoiced, locally stocked SPI Ethernet module from a supplier that can also assemble boards. Its outline is the widely produced 2x5-header W5500 form factor, so the differentiator is the supply route, the part number and the datasheet, not the layout.

Several things are genuinely absent. The datasheet has a Certifications heading with nothing under it, no schematic or bill of materials is published, no reference firmware is offered, and no independent buyer review of this module was found on 27 August 2026. The operating temperature of 0 to 50 degrees Celsius appears only in the IndiaMART attribute table, so it is worth confirming with the seller.

Price and stock also need rechecking before an order, since the vendor site is quote-based and the INR 425 figure sits on a marketplace listing the seller can edit at any time.
