PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Daeyeon C&I is a provider of integrated solar power system solutions. They offer comprehensive system solutions for solar power generation, including the installation and management of solar panels. 

They also have a powerful web tool tailored to various situations, enabling precise monitoring and control of individual solar panels.

Daeyeon C&I aimed to establish a system that continuously monitors solar panel data via the cloud. They sought to develop a communication module that maintains industrial standards while ensuring easy setup. As a result, they completed a module equipped with the W55RP20, which operated reliably in any environment, leading to a successful project completion.

The challenge

Daeyeon C&I faced challenges in developing a solar panel data transmitter. While various MCUs with Ethernet functionality are available on the market, they are often costly and require implementing TCP/IP in firmware, which is cumbersome and complex.

Even with well-implemented firmware, hardware issues can arise. Although many reference circuits exist, designing a reliable Ethernet circuit remains a challenge, even when following these references carefully.

Moreover, even if all these aspects are successfully implemented, creating a user-friendly method for configuring the device remains a significant hurdle.

Particularly, due to the nature of their product, which must be installed in mountainous areas, there were concerns about stability in extreme temperature and humidity conditions.

The solution

Daeyeon C&I was able to develop their product easily using the W55RP20. With WIZnet providing firmware customization for the Ethernet communication module, they could efficiently develop the firmware. Additionally, the W55RP20 met all industrial requirements, allowing it to pass various harsh condition tests.

Furthermore, developing a product with the W55RP20 comes with a tool for configuring IP settings and other device parameters. This tool enables complete device setup, and the same control can also be performed via Serial and Web interfaces.
