PROJECT DESCRIPTION
hello everyone i am advanced and my teammate name is devi as a part of iot internship at mtx information technologies private limited we did a project uh it is a iot based home automation solutions and based on it we did the ppt and the contents of this project are introduction it includes iot and home automation introduction and the purpose and the required components and software for this project and also other requirements include garden lights control temperature control system water tank inlet and outlet wall control and
the user interface used for this project is blink application and also we will conclude it and we will conclude and coming to iot i iot is internet of things describes the network of physical objects things that are embedded with sensor software and other technologies for the purpose of connecting and exchanging data with other devices and systems over the internet thermostats cars lights refrigerators and more appliances can all be connected to the iot this is the picture of the iot and coming to next it is home automation
home automation refers to the auto automatic and electronic control of household features activity and appliances home automation is a way to control all the gadgets of your house with your convenience thus saving power and cost you can handle all your gadgets such as lights temperature water tank etc with the help of your smartphone through the internet and we can make it remotely also next next topic is purpose the purpose of home automation system is streamline how your home functions consider some of these benefits for example remote access
we can control our home from mobile devices including our laptops tablets or smartphones remotely and the next benefit is comfort by using home automation we can make our home more comfortable and a livable space next required components for this project are arduino uno ethernet w0500 pcf 8574 temperature sensor lcd hd double 44780 and lia sensor software used for this project pixin lab arduino ide blink software coming to arduino uno the arduino uno is a microcontroller board based on the atmega328 it has 14 digital input output pins of
which 6 can be used as pwm outputs 6 analog inputs a 16 megahertz ceramic resonator a usb connection a power jack an is icsp header and a reset button this is the usb and this is the reset button and this is the atmega328 and this is the icsp pin and these are all the digital input output pins it contains everything needed to support the microcontroller simply connect it to a computer with a usb cable or power it with the ac to dc adapter or battery to get started next one is ethernet w5000 the ww500 chip is a hardwired tcp
ip embedded ethernet controller that provides easier internet connection to embedded systems ww500 enables users to have the internet connectivity in their appliances just by using the single chip in which tcp fee stack 100 ethernet mac and phi embedded next one is pcf 8574 the pcf 8574 is a silicon cmos circuit it provides general purpose remote input output expansion for most microcontroller families we are the two line bi-directional bus that is i2c the device consists of an 8-bit quasi bi-directional port and
i2c bus temperature sensor a temperature sensor is an electronic device that measures the temperature of its environment and converts the input data into electronic data to record monitor or signal temperature changes next one is lcd hd double four seven eight zero h34780 is dot matrix liquid crystal display controller and driver lsi displays alpha numeric japanese kana characters and symbols it can be configured to drive a dot matrix liquid crystal display under the control of your 4 or 8 bit microprocessor next one is ldr sensor a photo resistor
or light independent resistor or photocell is a light control variable resistor the resistance of photoresistor decreases with increasing instant light intensity in other words it exhibits photoconductivity next i will hand over the ppt to my teammate singampali devi she will continue from software required i am singampali devi i am explaining the software required which are used in this project the first one is pixim lab pixim lab is a real-time emulator of development boards with integrated mplab x debugger
pixim lab have integration with mplab x or ordinary for programming the board's micro microcontrollers and the next one is arduino ide the open source arduino software makes it easy to write code and upload it to the board this software can be used with any arduino board and the next one is requirements and the first one is garden lights control uh we are giving the input as ldr sensor and it reads the ldr sensor value based on the reading from ldr vary the brightness of the led which resembles controlling
garden lights based on the availability of sunlight and this one is the block diagram for this and the next one is temperature control system the temperature control system consists of a heating resistor an lm35 temperature sensor and a cooler which resembles the temperature control system at home read the temperature from the temperature sensor lm35 displayed on the lc clcd control the temperature of the system by turning on or off the heater and cooler through the blink iot mobile application and this one is the
block diagram for this and the next one is temperature control system we are giving the input as temperature sensor it reads the temperature from temperature sensor lm35 it gives the output as it displays the temperature on gauge widget and display temperature on clcd and the next requirement is cooler control system we are giving the input as button widget on blink iot application uh it detects the change in the logic level uh it gives the output as if the button widget is at low logic high turn on the cooler the
button widget is at logic low turn off the cooler and the next one is heater control system uh we are giving the input as button widget on blink iot app it detects the change in the logic level where it gives the output as if the button widget is at logic high turn on the heater if the button widget is logic low turn off the heater and the next one is threshold temperature control we are given the input test temperature sensor it reads and compare the temperature with 35 degrees and the output is it if the temperature is more than 35
turn off the heater and send notification to blink iot app and display the same on the clcd and the third one is water tank inlet and outlet valve control it reads the volume of the water in the tank through serial communication and display it on the clcd control the volume of the water in the tank by controlling the inlet and outlet valve by sending commands through through serial communication it displays the volume of the water in tank on the clcd and this one is the block diagram for this one and the next one is
the next requirement is display the volume of water in the tank we are giving the input as serial tank and it reads the volume of the water in the tank by sending commands through serial communication it gives the output as it displays the volume of the water on gas widget and displace the volume of the water on clcd and the next requirement is inlet valve control and the next one is output output outlet valve control we are giving the input as button with jet on blink iot app and it detects the change in the logic level it gives the
output as if the button widget is at logic high turn on the outlet valve by sending commands through serial communication if the button widget is at logic low turn off the outlet valve by sending commands through serial communication and the next requirement is control the volume of water in the tank we are giving the input to serial tank and it reads the temperature reads the volume of the water in the tank by sending commands to serial communication it gives the output as if the volume of water in the tank is less than 2000
liters turn on the inlet valve and send notification to the blink mobile app and display the same on the clcd dashboard and the next one is user interface we are using this uh using blink iot and blink application blink was designed for the internet of things it can control hardware remotely it can display sensor data it can store data visualize it and do many other cool things create widgets on mobile blink application button widgets to control heater cooler inlet valve on the outlet valve gauge widgets to display temperature and
volume of the water in the tank on the mobile application and terminal widgets to display the notifications whenever threshold is crushed like temperature is more than 35 degrees turning of the heater water level is full water in flow is disabled and the next one is threshold control when the heater is on if the temperature rise above 35 degree celsius then heater should turn off automatically and message temperature is more than 35 degrees celsius turning off the heater should be displayed on the virtual terminal heater of on lcl cd
when the water in the tank is full turn off the inlet valve automatically and display water level is full of full water inflow disabled and and lastly uh this one is the clcd we are using uh uh using as the dashboard in this project and the other two the screenshots of mobile application we are creating the home automation as template and and we are creating tab one and tab two tab one is a button widgets to control the heater cooler and gauge widget to display the temperature and terminal to print the notifications
and the tab to easy button widgets to control the inlet valve outlet valve gauge to display the volume of the water in the tank and the next one is [Music] lastly the conclusion using blink iot application and pixim lab simulator simulated home automation where a led temperature system serial tank resembles light heater cooler and water tank in real time clcd acts like a dashboard used for displaying the events widgets from blink iot app like button widgets are used to control heater cooler and inlet valve and outlet valve gas widgets
to display the temperature and volume of the water and this is the conclusion and thank you thank you all you
