Today’s VAR introduction is about the DM24.12 digital mixer from SEIKAKU.

SEIKAKU is a company established in 1985, providing a wide range of audio-related products and solutions including digital mixers, amplifiers, speakers, and various PA/AV systems.

The product I would like to highlight today is the DM24.12 digital mixer.

In the image above, the Ethernet port of the DM24.12 uses a WIZnet W5500, implemented in the form of a module.

I contacted the SEIKAKU Hong Kong office to confirm whether the module was customized by them.
They replied that the module does not appear to be a custom SEIKAKU design and was most likely customized directly by their customer.

The PCB photo showing the W5500 module was found inside the EMC Report included in the CE certification documents for the DM24.12.

What Is the W5500 Used For?

While checking how the W5500 is utilized in this product, I discovered an app in the Apple App Store called LAN-W5500 (Client), and it turns out the app was developed by SEIKAKU.

According to the app description:

The app allows configuring the network port of the W5500

Users can modify IP address, gateway, subnet mask, etc.

After connecting the DM24.12 to a wireless router via Ethernet,
you can connect your phone or tablet to the same Wi-Fi network and configure the device via the app

The app also includes a network scan function

After reading through the DM24.12 manual, I found that the Ethernet port is used for firmware updates and remote control.
Based on this, the LAN-W5500 app appears to be a utility used to:

Connect the mixer to a router

Connect a mobile device to the same router

Discover the device

Modify the network settings of the internal W5500

Meanwhile, the actual control application is distributed separately under the name “DM Editor”.

With port forwarding configured, remote control from off-site locations should also be possible.

VAR Impression

I knew that W5500 is widely used in audio/visual equipment for control interfaces,
but this is the first time I’ve seen a product that integrates it with a clean, dedicated mobile app for configuration.

This makes the DM24.12 a great VAR example, especially for customers who need:

Remote control

Embedded Ethernet-based device management

Stable, hardware-based TCP/IP communication

Mobile-app control integration

This kind of application scenario is definitely something worth showcasing to customers.

이번에 소개드릴 VAR는 SEIKAKU사의 DM24.12 입니다.

SEIKAKU사는 1985년에 설립되어 디지털 믹서, 앰프, 스피커 등 음향 관련 장비 및 솔루션을 제공합니다.

이번에 드릴 제품은 DM24.12 라는 제품입니다.

위 그림의 Ethernet 포트에 W5500이 사용되었고 모듈 형태로 사용되었습니다.

HK 지사에 확인해보니 HK지사에서 커스텀 된 모듈은 아니고 고객사에서 직접 커스텀 했을 것이라 예상해 주었습니다.

해당 사진은 DM24.12 제품 설명 페이지의 CE 인증 관련 문서에 EMC Report 파일에서 찾았습니다.

W5500이 어떤 기능에 사용되는지 궁금해서 찾아보다가 apple 앱스토어에 LAN-W5500(Client)라는 어플을 찾았고 해당 앱이 SEIKAKU에서 제작되었다는 것을 발견했습니다.

어플 설명에 "W5500의 네트워크 포트를 구성해 포트의 IP 주소, 게이트웨이, 서브넷 마스크 등을 수정 가능. 무선 라우터에 장비 연결한 이후에 휴대폰이나 타블릿을 동일한 무선 라우터에 연결하고 앱을 통해 조작" 이라고 써있고

스캔 기능이 있었습니다.

여기에 제품 메뉴얼을 읽어보니 Ethernet 포트는 FW 업데이트와 Remote 컨트롤에 사용된다는 것으로 보아 W5500-LAN 앱은 무선 라우터에 제품의 W5500 랜을 연결하고 동일한 라우터의 Wifi에 휴대폰/태블릿을 연결후 앱에서 제품의 IP를 변경할 수 있는 기능이고 제어하는 어플은 따로 "DM Editor" 라는 이름으로 배포되고 있음을 확인했습니다.

포트 포워딩을 사용한다면 원격지에서의 제어도 가능해보였습니다.

W5500이 음향/영상 관련된 장비 제어에 사용된다는 것을 알고 있었지만 깔끔한 앱까지 연동되는 제품은 처음이였습니다.

비슷한 어플리케이션은 원하는 고객에게 사용 사례로 소개시켜 줄 수 있을만한 VAR 였습니다.
