W5500 is a powerful TCP/IP embedded Ethernet controller designed to simplify Internet connectivity for embedded systems. It offloads the transport and network layer processing of the TCP/IP protocol stack (including TCP, UDP, ICMP, IPv4, ARP, IGMP, PPPoE, and more) using dedicated hardware logic gates. This controller also integrates the data link layer, physical layer, and 32KB of on-chip RAM for efficient data transmission and reception.

With the W5500, the main control chip of the host system only needs to handle the TCP/IP application layer, significantly reducing the workload related to data copying, protocol handling, and interrupt processing. This enhancement leads to improved system utilization and reliability, making the W5500 an ideal choice for your Internet-connected projects.
