W7500S2E-X1(Serial to Ethernet Module in RJ45)
Serial to Ethernet module integrates all components inside RJ45.
I have designed a similar product before, which also integrated all the components of Serial to Ethernet module into RJ45. At that time, two PCBs were used, and a connector was used to connect the two PCBs. But it was abandoned because it was too difficult to produce.
Now, there are no patent restrictions, and the production cost of FPC (Flexible Printed Circuit) has also dropped, so I decided to use FPC to redesign this product. The name is temporarily named W7500S2E-X1.
I redesigned the hardware using FPC, which eliminated the need for connectors and simplified the production process.
I adopted the hardware framework of W7500+IP101GRI and used a low-height network transformer. All these components can then be placed into an extended RJ45.
The thickness of FPC is 0.11mm. In order to increase the physical strength, I used 0.2mm PI material for reinforcement in some areas.
The interface of this device is mainly two UARTs. UART_1 (TXD, RXD) is mainly used for ISP code downloading. UART0 (TXD, RXD, CTS, RTS) is the S2E data communication interface. There are also LINK_LED, ACT_LED, RESET pins and Factory Default pins.
The development version of W7500S2E was designed a few years ago and can be used for ISP code download and communication testing.
USB-UART Chip is cp2014, cp2014 can generate two UART interfaces, corresponding to program download and communication test respectively.
The firmware can directly use the W7500S2E firmware, modify the definition and recompile to run. The latest version of W7500S2E firmware is version 2.9.
