Hello, I am interested in learning if the 8 bit interface devices are being maintained/updated or if they have been ‘end of life’d’. Why should people use this category? What is it for? How exactly is this different than the other categories we already have? What should topics in this category generally contain? Do we need this category? Can we merge with another category, or subcategory? I am building several projects with the C8051F340 8051 based microcontroller. I prefer a Ethernet module with 8 bit interface. Are the 8 bit devices being maintained/updated or are has SPI become the preferred interface for new development ? Thank you
