당연한 이야기겠지만 외부 PHY의 사용은 PCB Footprint를 증가시키며 Analog단이 증가하는 만큼 설계에도 많이 신경쓰게 됩니다.
하지만 사용하시고자 하는 트렌스포머 혹은 RJ45 Jack 등이 W5300과 특성이 맞지 않는다면 외부 PHY가 답이 될 수 있습니다.
또한 특정 산업용 규격을 맞추기 위해 정해진 PHY를 사용하셔야 하는 경우에도 외부 PHY를 사용해야 하겠죠?
위와 같은 특별한 이슈가 없다면 내부 PHY 사용을 권장드립니다.
