## Article

From manufacturer Moxa come two new solutions, which should be of particular interest to IT managers from the industrial and infrastructure environment. The first is the Iologik W5300 RTU controller series, which was designed for outdoor infrastructure monitoring tasks where there is no cabling or Internet connection. The data traffic passes via mobile network (GSM/UMTS), and the devices have digital and analog inputs as well as digital outputs and relay contacts. Via a serial interface and an Ethernet port, corresponding devices can also be controlled. In the event of events, the Iologik controllers can independently trigger messages via SMS, e-mail, TCP/UDP or SNMP trap. An SD card slot allows data logging, and status queries and control are also possible via SMS. The devices are sold from 890 francs.
The second new addition to the Moxa portfolio is the AWK-3100 series, which includes robust WLAN access points for industrial environments and is sold from 599 francs. The devices can be used as an access point, bridge or client, have professional security functions and support the WLAN standards 802.11a/b/g/n. Power is available via two redundant ports or Power-over-Ethernet (802.3af).
