## Article

This build is based on the great design of Thomas Krichbaumer ([thingiverse.com/thing:3623148](http://thingiverse.com/thing:3623148)) I made some changes to the bowl support (to use a glass bowl), the case, and the lid. It's an automated cat feeder for dry food. The load cell (HX711) below the bowl constantly reports how much food is left. When it's feeding time the build-in Arduino gets a trigger signal from my smart-home (via ModbusTCP) and the bowl gets refilled if needed. The dosing process itself is controlled by the Arduino. The auger is driven by a Nema23 stepper motor which is controlled by a TMC2208 driver.
