### Protocol (Compatibility)

This unit supports wired LAN control of PTZ remote systems; using TCP/IP/UDP it can switch and control up to four control units from one remote.
Compatible with the following units:

- DJI RS control unit Pro (wired LAN version)

- DJI RS control unit LIGHT (wired LAN version)

- DJI RS control unit LANC compatible version (wired LAN version)

- MP-101 control unit (wired LAN version)
Not compatible with wireless variants or VISCA over IP PTZ cameras.

## Control Features

**Right Joystick:** Pan / Tilt

**Left Joystick:** Zoom / Roll

**LANC Cameras:** Iris control and menu navigation supported

**Firmware Integration:**
With RS Intelligent Tracking Module + firmware v4.2+, “Active Track” can be triggered direct

---

## Getting Started

1. Connect the remote controller via Ethernet to the target control unit (e.g., DJI RS unit) using a straight or crossover cable (since Auto-MDI/MDI-X isn’t supported).

2. Provide power: use** 5-12V adapter or Micro-USB 5V.**

3. Configure IP address and default route via the remote controller’s Web UI if operating across router boundaries.

4. Use right joystick for pan/tilt, left joystick for zoom/roll. For LANC-compatible camcorders, iris/menu operations supported.

---

## Network Specifications

- **Communication:** TCP/IP (UDP-based control)

- **Supported Links:** 100BASE-TX / 10BASE-T

- **Auto-MDI/MDI-X:Not supported**
  - For direct connection: requires a crossover cable or crossover adapter

- **Maximum Distance:**
  - Up to **100 m** over a single cable
  - Up to **205 m** using two repeater hubs
  - Even further when using fiber media converters

- **IP Routing:**
  - For control across routers/subnets, both the remote controller and target unit must configure IP + default route via built-in Web UI.

This is highly advantageous in large-scale venues such as theaters, broadcast studios, and event halls where long-distance cabling is required.

---

## Power Specifications

- **Input:** 5–12 V DC (barrel jack 5.5 mm / 2.1 mm, center-positive)

- **Alternative Power:** 5 V Micro-USB

---

## 🧠Engineering - Focused Insights

**Dual-Joystick Architecture:**
Independent pan/tilt and zoom/roll input improves operator ergonomics and precision.

**Wired LAN Control:**
Designed intentionally for broadcast studios, event halls, and RF-noisy environments where wireless links are unreliable.

**No Auto-MDI/MDI-X:**
Indicates a simplified PHY design—relevant when planning cable topology for installation.

**Extended Range:**
100 m standard reach aligns with Ethernet norms; 205 m with two repeaters provides flexibility for large venues.

**Multi-Unit Switching:**
One controller can operate up to **four devices**, which is valuable in multi-camera robotic setups.

**Firmware-Level Integration (Active Track):**
Shows tight coupling with DJI’s RS ecosystem—hardware input mapped to high-level camera automation.
