# Resolving IP address using DHCP - WIZ750SR

## Question

Asked by dh13015317 on 2025-11-08 in Serial-to-Ethernet & ConfigTool.

Using the WIZ750SR ver 1.2 on the EVB. Once loading [WIZ750SRv145_incl_boot.bin](https://github.com/Wiznet/WIZ750SR/releases/download/v1.4.5/WIZ750SRv145_incl_boot.bin) the device does not resolve it's IP address. Note I've tried reprogramming the device several times for other reasons and have had to re-program the MAC address. I had the same issue when trying to load W7500S2E_App_R1_V2.9.bin. Using the s2e_tool I can discover the device but it doesn't have an IP address from the router. The serial output is as follows:

Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the WIZ750SR v1.2 module not receiving an IP address.

Based on the serial output you provided, the device is currently set to use a static IP configuration, as indicated by the line: "Obtaining IP settings: [Static]". This means the device is not set to request an IP address from a DHCP server such as your router. Therefore, it is expected that the device does not receive an IP address automatically in this configuration.

If you would like the device to receive an IP address automatically from your router, please change the network setting to DHCP. You can do this in one of the following ways:

Method 1 - Serial command:

1. Connect to the device via serial terminal.

2. Enter command mode by typing: +++

3. Enter the command: DI

4. Save the setting by entering: MW

5. Reboot the device with the command: RT

Method 2 - Using configuration tool:

1. Open the s2e_tool and discover the device.

2. In the network settings, change the IP configuration to DHCP.

3. Click “Write Setting” to save.

4. Reboot the device.

If you continue to experience issues after switching to DHCP mode, please verify that your router’s DHCP server is enabled and that your PC is on the same network.

Best regards,
WIZnet Technical Support
