# AT+CIPBUFRESET

## Question

Asked by BasilPaul on 2025-09-22 in Wireless.

with the WizFi360 in server mode (AT+CWMODE_CUR=1) , how is it possible to clear or reset the buffer if the client premeturely closed the link(connection) and left unsent message(SEND FAIL) in the WizFi360 buffer?

AT+CIPBUFSTATUS=0

14,12,12,0,0

OK

even if the client reconnects the buffer remains out of sync:

0,CONNECT

AT+CIPSENDBUF=0,10
14,12

OK
>

Recv 10 bytes

0,13,SEND OK

AT+CIPBUFSTATUS=0

15,13,13,15360,10

OK

When WizFi360 is in server mode and a client disconnects early leaving unsent data, the module reports SEND FAIL and keeps the data in its internal buffer.
Reconnecting the client does not clear or resync the buffer.

The only ways to recover are:

- Close the socket with AT+CIPCLOSE

- Restart the server with AT+CIPSERVER=0 followed by AT+CIPSERVER=1

- Reset the whole module with AT+RST

- If supported, use AT+CIPBUFRESET=<link_id> to clear the buffer directly

If AT+CIPBUFRESET is not available in your firmware you need to update.

In practice the safest method is to close the socket on SEND FAIL and wait for the client to reconnect.
If buffer corruption persists reset the server or the module.

CIPBUFSTATUS values will only clear when the buffer is reset by one of these methods.
