# Wiznet W310 WiFi – HTTP client support?

## Question

Asked by JMRibera on 2025-09-05 in Wireless.

Hi,

We are working with an STM32-based device together with the Wiznet W310 WiFi module. Our goal is to implement a firmware update mechanism via HTTP (downloading a file from a web server).

Does anyone know if the W310 includes a built-in HTTP stack, or does it only provide basic TCP/IP connectivity

Thanks in advance for any clarification or experience you can share.

Hi,

To use HTTP with the WizFi310, you need to implement it on the STM32 side.
Since the WizFi310 is now discontinued and technical support is limited, we recommend using the WizFi360 chip instead.
