# CircuitPython

## Question

Asked by AlquistArj on 2025-06-14 in MCU & Boards.

I'm trying to use the CircuitPython standard drivers for a w55rp20-evb-pico. Is this possible?

Why do your CircuitPython examples use PIO rather than the built in SPI 0 bus?

Hello,
Since the W55RP20-EVB-Pico uses PIO-based SPI, it is not compatible with the standard SPI driver in CircuitPython.
We have nearly completed the development of a driver that utilizes PIO SPI.
A pull request will be submitted soon to request official support.
Once the standard CircuitPython drivers are updated to support the W55RP20-EVB-Pico, I’ll provide an update again.
