# Assembling WizNet W6100-EVB-Pico2 and WizNet PoE-P1

## Question

Asked by LenzKappov on 2024-10-23 in MCU & Boards.

How can I connect a WizNet PoE-P1 to a WizNet W6100-EVB-Pico2?

Is there a right way and a wrong way?

Should the bank of pins labelled P1 on the PoE-P1 be towards the Ethernet connector or towars the USB socket?

Hi LenzKappov
I'm using a W5500-EVB-Pico2 with a WIZPoE-P1.
The right way to connect the WIZPoE-P1 to the board is:
- the 4 pins name VC1 (2 pins) and VC2 (2 pins) must be towards the Ethernet connector
- the 4 pins named OUT (2 pins) and GND (2 pins) must be towards the USB-C connector
Hope this answers your question.
