# How to open and bind an UDP broadcast socket

## Question

Asked by Vien Huy Nguyen on 2023-07-28 in Ethernet Chips.

I would like to open an UDP socket that receives broadcast messages. I did some research and see that we need to open the socket and bind it to INADDR_ANY (0x00000000). However, the socket() function in the ioLibrary does not have any parameter for ip address.

How can I achieve this? Thank you.
