# Does the firmware of the W5500-EVB need to be modified?

Asked by hd4009 on 2023-07-25 in Ethernet Chips.

Hi, does the default firmware of the W5500-EVB need to be modified so that it is able to work with ESP32 chips? Specifically when being connected to these chips over SPI? Thanks for the help!
