# About the resistance of RSET_BG

## Question

Asked by fukuda2 on 2020-03-31 in Ethernet Chips.

Hi.
I’m evaluating a pcb board with W5300 chip.
What is the function of the pull-down resistor of RSET_BG?
What happens if it is not 12.3kΩ?
Thank you.

You must use 12.3 k.

The resistor is not a pull-down.

A resistor that limits the current of a chip’s internal element.

Thank you

Thank you for reply.
If the resistor value is not 12.3k, will the chip fail?
Thank you.
