# [iEthernet]MAC address는 어떻게 얻나요?

사실 MAC 주소는 **IEEE에서 기업 등록 및 구매가 가능**하며, **재판매가 금지**되어 있습니다.
따라서++ 별도로 판매 및 제공하지는 않습니다.++

위즈네트 제품군에는 Serial to Ethernet 제품군과 그 외 몇몇 제품군 등,
MCU가 탑재되어 독립적인 기능을 수행하며, 바로 사**용자 디바이스에 더해 양산에 투입될 수 있거나 완제품인 module의 경우**에만 MAC 주소를 부여하여 판매하고 있습니다.

MICROCHIP과 같은 밴더에서 MAC 주소를 담고있는 **Serial EEPROM**을 판매하는 것으로 알고 있는데,
이러한 부분도 확인해보시는 것도 한 방법입니다.

IEEE를 통해서 MAC을 구매하는 방법은 아래와 같습니다.

MAC ADDRESS는 6byte로
3byte는 OUI(조직고유 식별자)로 부여되며, 나머지 3byte에 대해서 구매한 기업이 자유자재로 부여해서 사용하면됩니다.
약 1600만개가 사용 가능합니다.

2018년 12월 기준 Publicly Registered MA-L의 비용은 2,820달러입니다.
