# TCP Client : IP with URL

## Question

Asked by phil31 on 2016-03-15 in Wireless.

Dear All,

i manage to use a socket as TCP client. using AT+SCON=O,TCN,192.168.0.50,1000,0,0

when required, the module open a link to the TCP server and send some data to the defined IP:PORT (here, to 192.168.0.50:1000)
that work as expected ![](https://emoji.discourse-cdn.com/twitter/smiley.png?v=12)

but how to do if i need to add an URL to the IP ?..
by example 192.168.0.50:1000/URLtest
![](https://emoji.discourse-cdn.com/twitter/question.png?v=12) ![](https://emoji.discourse-cdn.com/twitter/question.png?v=12)

thanks, regards
Phil

Hi pill

Please refer to the following link.
[stepwise.hk/wdwiki/Lecture/W … esOverview](http://www.stepwise.hk/wdwiki/Lecture/WebTechnologiesOverview)

maybe if you want to connect to the example url.

1. connect to IP:port using SCON command

2. send http request to server.(you can refer to the data format in upper link)
   for example…

GET /URLtest HTTP/1.1
host: 192.168.0.50:1000
