# Idle socket

## Question

Asked by jdcowpland on 2014-08-15 in Ethernet Chips.

Hi,

Does anyone know if there is a way to detect if a socket is idle? i.e. no data is being transmitted or received on the socket?

Hi,

I think if you check Sn_IR register, you can find detect idle socket.
The register should be cleared if not the bit is 1.
