This project is an example of simple security application that sends a message to a certain Android device by sensing activities of a designated area using Ethernet shield and IBM Bluemix service.
Author started this project for his wife Sue since she had so much interest in raising dart frogs. He wanted to build a survivable environment runs by automatic system for dart frogs which can be monitored at home. The system includes switch for lights on and off, plug in and unplug fans, monitor the temperature, and use a mist bottle to keep the environment at a desirable humidity level.
This project is well-made home-automation system. This project is consists of Open source hardware platform and serveral sensors.
1. FM radio using duino and FM radio chip.
2. The radio displays frequency and configuration using LCD.
3. The radio outputs audio signal to speaker using amplifier.
4. Controlled by HTTP Server.
This project sets temperature with a web using Arduino Ethernet Shield 2 and also remotes fan to activate in a certain temperature.
For our project we wanted to create an Ethernet data logger that could take data from a temperature sensor and a PIR motion sensor. This would allow us to graph motion and temperature over time allowing users to know when a space was most in use and perhaps whether it was being heated effectively.
Author implemented Home automation system easily using Teleduino and MIT APP inventor. And he describes his implementation way in this article.

This project is a good example of DIY home automation which is to control LED lights from Philips using Arduino instead of Philips Hue Bridge (a kind of gateway solution to control the LED lights).
