### Introduction: A Compact and Reliable PoE + Ethernet Module

This blog post introduces a compact and highly reliable PoE + Ethernet module, ideal for embedded and IoT applications. While many affordable PoE modules are available on the market, most suffer from thermal, EMI, or communication stability issues—especially when Ethernet and PoE are integrated in a single board.

The reviewed module addresses these challenges effectively by using the **DPA423** switching chip from **Power Integrations** and the **W5500 Ethernet chip** from **WIZnet**. It delivers up to **8W** output power and complies with **IEEE 802.3af**, supporting both **Mode A and Mode B** with a wide input voltage range of **40–60V**. Built-in overvoltage and overcurrent protection ensures safe operation even with faulty PSEs.

The module features full **isolation on both PoE and Ethernet sides**, rated at **2kV**, and supports SPI communication through a simple 4-pin interface.
