## **Story**

> *This project was inspired by the need for new technology to be accessible for the hearing impaired. It was created as part of the Internet of Things Coding and Hardware Design Bootcamp at CNM Ingenuity. The device is built on a Teensy 3.1 microcontroller and coded in C++ using the Arduino IDE.*

> *For the hard of hearing, this device features a visual alarm notification that will flash Phillips Hue lightbulbs when it is time to wake up. It also uses a microphone and the same Phillips Hue lightbulbs to show a visual alert when someone knocks at the door.*

> *This smart room controller also reads the environment of the room using a BME280 sensor, controls the color and brightness of smart Phillips Hue lightbulbs, and also turns on and off internet connected Wemo power outlets. The uses of this device could be greatly expanded to control just about any internet connected device around the home.*
